In November, Amit Shah is scheduled to make two important visits to Uttar Pradesh, one of which is going to start today and continue for two days.  

The meet will also be attended by the Lieutenant Governors of the Union Territories of Andaman and Nicobar, Puducherry as well as the administrator of Puducherry.

Amit Shah will also visit Azamgarh, the parliamentary constituency of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, to lay the foundation of a university.

Earlier on Sunday, Shah launched the Dairy Sahakar scheme at Gujarat's Anand with the overall objectives of doubling the farmers' income and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

National Unity Day is celebrated in India on October 31. It was introduced by the Central government in 2014.

The acharyas discussed certain issues pertaining to Hindu Dharma and culture which require restorative actions from the government.

Polls for the 70 member Uttarakhand Assembly are scheduled to take place in early 2022. In the 2017 elections, BJP secured 57 assembly seats, Congress won 11 seats and the rest of the seats were won by others.

Uttar Pradesh is slated to go to the polls early next year. In the 2017 polls, the BJP had secured a brute majority, winning 312 seats.

Amit Shah's visit comes amid several incidents of killings of civilians by the terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir which is sparking fear in the valley.

Addressing a public rally in Bhagwati Nagar area of Jammu city, Home Minister Amit Shah said, "The monopoly of three families is over once and forever."

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said, "When PM invited political leaders from Kashmir at his residence, I had demanded that we'd like to have statehood followed by the elections. Other parties also demanded. Home Minister assured us that statehood will be granted and delimitation commission will give the report."
